I pray that the God of heaven
will put an end to your season of tears
The truth is that failure and success are con-tenants in the life
of man. Failure is a part to disillusionment, wretchedness, tears
and untimely death, while success is honey to the soul. Tear is a
child of failure and nothing on the face of the earth causes tears
more than failure: most especially when a breakthrough is round
the corner. Moses, a leader and prophet whom God called to lead
his people to the promise land, started well with the intention of
getting through. A panoramic view of the ministry of Moses from
the palace of Pharaoh to the Mount of Nebo will reveal the
struggles he went through.
At the palace, he confronted the most powerful King of the world
then, who could have ordered his killing. However, the great "I
AM" stood by him. The crossing of the red sea and the escape from
the jugular mouth of the pursuing army of Pharaoh was another set
of problems Moses Contended with. The sight of the sea was enough
for the Israelites to accuse Moses of murder and God for
insincerity to his promise to deliver them. Again Moses called on
the EVER PRESENT HELP and He parted the sea and destroyed their
sworn enemies. Moses also survived the attack at Rephidim when the
Israelites quarreled with him for water (Ex.17:1-7).
Unfortunately, they did not consider their leader (Moses) was in
the same shoes with them. However he cried unto the GOD OF
SOLUTION who provided water out of rock for them.
So many other things he suffered yet he overcame. However, at
Meribah (Num.20:1-12), it was a different story. The instruction
was wrongly carried out and failure at the edge of breakthrough
arose. How?
"Speak to the rock" is different from "strike the rock"
2. "Listen, you rebels, must we bring you water out of the rock"
is uncalled for. Truly, Moses must have been pushed to the wall
and angered. Anger is an uncanny behaviour, too hot to handle and
it cost Moses the denial of entering the promise land.
Friends, every time I review the story of Moses and the denial, I
am pained to the bone marrow. What? A man God testified of as the
meekest and great prophet, yet.... That tells you and me that
total obedience is a way to total breakthrough. To put an end to
your season of tears today, you need to follow God's instructions
and put your total trust in Him.
No matter how many years you have been struggling for marital,
employment, material and spiritual breakthroughs you need a word
from the Lord for direction. You must stand and cry onto the Lord
for divine direction to your place of destiny (Jer:33:3). It was
Eliazer who spoke: "I being on the way the Lord lead me"
(Gen.24:27). This was when he found Rebecca for Isaac. God knows
the way to your breakthroughs and he will erect divine signposts
for you as you pray and follow him daily (Ps.32:8). Besides, God
has the power to make way for your breakthroughs where there is no
way. That reminds us of Don Moen's songs:

God Will Make
A Way
Where There Seems To Be No Way
He Works In Ways We Cannot See
He Will Make A Way.... (2ce) |
My reader, if hope
seems lost and your eyes are red with tears, God, who made the way
in the wilderness will make way for you. You also need the power
of God to overcome the giants on the way.
There are lots of wars
(physical and spiritual) in the world we are living in today. Many
are dying in the battle and at the edge of their breakthroughs. A
few years ago, a newly wedded couple got burnt to death on their
way home from the altar. It was a gory sight; very pathetic.
However, the bible records that "Nay in all these things we are
more than conquerors through him that loved us" (Rom.8:37). If you
believe this verse of this scripture, rise up and celebrate your
victory over the devil. Refuse to die at the edge of your
breakthrough. Take up your spiritual machine gun, arrow, spear,
and shield for action (Eph.6:11-18), you must not die now
(Ps.118:17).
Let us consider the
enemy within us, Mr. Flesh, you must truculently deal with it
because it does not like righteousness, holiness, humility, and
discipline which are principles to breakthroughs. Flesh accounts
for most of the failures at the edge of breakthroughs and failures
of many people including great men of God. No wonder Apostle Paul
said, "But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection:
lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself
should be a cast away" (1 Cor.9:27). He explained further in
Rom.8:13, "For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: (fail)
but if ye through the spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye
shall live (win). This is necessary in order to operate God's kind
of life and be in the company of successful men and women. I see
you entering into your breakthroughs as you follow the Lord
diligently and in temperance.
God Bless You.. However if you are not Born Again, the first
breakthrough you need is the knowledge that you no longer need to
go round heavy-laden, as the Master, 2000 years ago, had taken
your burden off you. He bore your sins on the cross of Calvary,
died in your place so you can live and all you need today is
acknowledge him: accept him as your Lord and Saviour, that's the
first BREAKTHROUGH indeed. (Rom.3"23; Jn.3:16; Eph.2:8-9;
2Cor.6:2). God bless you.
