WHAT AND WHO STARTED THE AFRICAN CENTER
It all started in the summer of 1995, when destiny
brought together seven Africans in a social setting. Each of the "original
seven" (as they are referred to today) happened to come from seven different
African nations to live or go to school in the Indianapolis area. This
pioneering group began to learn from each other's stories of their different
environments and experiences in Africa and in the USA. The gain of this unusual
but unique relationship was significant: The coming together of Africans from
different tribes, different languages, different countries and different social,
educational and religious backgrounds.
VISION

Africans in Indiana and other parts of the US will possess the ingredients they
